Upper blepharoplasty
Upper blepharoplasty
This patient is a 67 year old female presenting with dermatochalasis (excess eyelid skin). She consequently struggled seeing in her periphery, noting that she had to turn her head more when she was driving. She made a full recovery after undergoing blepharoplasty surgery, resulting in brighter and unobstructed vision. (After photo at 7 weeks post op)
Upper blepharoplasty
Upper blepharoplasty
This patient is a 67 year old female complaining of sagging skin (dermatochalasis) and irritation in the folds of her upper lids (steatoblepharon). She reported raising her eyebrows often to lift the eyelid skin, resulting in a wider field of view. Dr. Choe recommended a blepharoplasty to relieve her of the heaviness her lids were causing. After a quick and smooth recovery, the patient noted a significant improvement in her vision and appearance. (After photo at 9 weeks post op)

Upper blepharoplasty
This 65 year old male patient was unaware of the visual significance of his drooping eyelids until he lifted them up, noting an improvement in his driving and computer vision. He was diagnosed with dermatochalasis (excess lid skin) on both upper eyelids and underwent a successful upper blepharoplasty. Note the persistent swelling around his eyes, caused by CPAP usage, was unaffected by the surgery. (After photo at 5 week post op)
Upper blepharoplasty
Upper blepharoplasty
This 74 year old male had been taping his eyelids up in order to see clearly, especially in his upper field of vision. By the end of the day his eyelids would drop so low that they were basically closed. Dr. Choe determined his problem was due to an excess amount of skin weighing over his eyes, otherwise known as dermatochalasis. After an out-patient blepharoplasty surgery and easy recovery, the patient noted that his peripheral vision had greatly improved and no longer needed assistance to keep his eyes open. Upper blepharoplasty
This is a 70 year old female presenting with dermatochalasis (excess eyelid skin). She had to hold her eyelids up or raise her brows to see clearly, which affected many of her daily activities. After undergoing an out-patient blepharoplasty surgery, her vision and quality of life significantly improved. (After photo at 8 weeks post op)
Upper blepharoplasty
Upper blepharoplasty
This is a 53 yo male who had prior eyelid surgery with a surgeon who was not an oculofacial plastic specialist. The patient did not get the results he was hoping for and his eyelids continued to obstruct his vision and appeared abnormally swollen and puffy. Dr. Choe was suspicious about a reaction to retained filler as the patient had evidence of retained filler causing swelling of the lower eyelids. The retained filler was dissolved but the upper eyelids remained very swollen and heavy. The patient underwent blepharoplasty surgery and massage was applied to the tissue below the brow which resulted in the expression of a clear fluid. The patient did very well post-operatively with significant improvement in peripheral vision and appearance as Dr. Choe was able to correctly identify and treat the underlying cause of the issue. (After photo is 4 weeks post op)

Upper blepharoplasty
This is a 76 year old female who had visually significant dermatochalasis or excess eyelid skin. Her skin hung over her lashes and obstructed her peripheral vision. When she raised her eyebrows, she noticed things looked brighter and clearer. She underwent successful blepharoplasty surgery and was very happy with the improvement in her peripheral vision.
